Challenge
The civil service colleges are designated training centres providing courses and programmes
devised by the Cabinet Office corporate development group. PPAV Limited was tasked with designing
and implementing bespoke audio visual presentation systems to replay video, data and audio signals
from various media sources. The installations were to be carried out in fifteen training rooms based
in Sunningdale, Ascot and Belgrave Road, London.
Solution
PPAV Limited provided the civil service colleges with a custom installation solution that met
both their technical and budgetary needs. We implemented a standardised equipment and installation
schedule for all fifteen training rooms, which included:
- Ceiling mounted LCD projectors
- Electric Projection screen
- Custom made brackets and supports
- Extron Medialink room control system
- DVD, VCR Replay
- Audio Replay system
- Visualiser & camera points
- Laptop / PC Replay
As the fifteen training rooms are being constantly used by presenters of various skills, the
installation was designed to ensure ease of use and hassle free presenting. A central control system
was integrated to allow the user to control all aspects of the system from a single hand held control.
As some rooms at Sunningdale Park were grade II listed buildings part of the design challenge included
integrating audio visual equipment whilst preserving all original aspects of the interior.
